Online – Nebraska & Iowa
10-week group, Sundays starting December 8, 2024. 3:30pm
Political Anxiety: the anxiety experienced as a result of the current domestic or international political situation and world events.*
The country has experienced significant political upheaval in the past decade, triggering concerns about human rights restrictions and increased polarization between communities, neighbors, and even family members. Locally or nationally, the rippling effects on legislative and personal levels can be overwhelming. Due to this, it may be difficult to find support for anxiety, trauma, and depression surrounding the 2024-2028 administration.
To address this need, MMH will be providing a 10-week online group to provide tools, therapeutic guidance, and support. This group will combine aspects of CBT and similar modalities to help manage emotional reactions and encourage a sense of stability in daily life. The group will consist of both prearranged agendas, with specific therapeutic objectives and psychoeducational aspects, along with guided open agendas to allow for members to share their own insights and provide member support. Members are expected to attend all 10 weeks, with the group being closed to new members once it begins to promote cohesion and cooperation.
This group will be open to adults of any gender, orientation, or political identification negatively affected by the changes foreseen/experienced by the 2024-2028 administration. This group is also well suited for those allied with LGBTQ+ and women’s rights. Private pay only, not accepting insurance for this group. Rate $30/week (75-minute group session).
